Seems to me a piece of unnecessary and rather ignorant self-flagellation. And self-involvement; it might help him to ask why, even post-Holocaust, so many other Jewish people still find it possible to enjoy and even perform Wagner. Certainly the likes of Furtwangler and Strauss and Karajan can be censured for their Nazi affiliations, and share a collective reponsibility, but to equate them with the real criminals in power is to blur a moral scale beyond the point of reason. To then extend this as if it contaminated the works they performed is simply wallowing in it -- reacting at the Donald Trump level, you might say.

Perhaps Dr. Mass has forgotten that Richard Wagner lived in the 19th and not
in the 20th Century, and that he never knew what the word "Nazi" means.
