Not yet, but I mean to, especially as my colleague Michael Tanner, also a distinguished philosophy don, has reviewed it very favourably for our mag. Scruton is rather a flamboyant figure, working-class in origin but decidedly patrician, old-fashioned conservative and probably the only philosopher who rides to hounds. He's also a specialist in aesthetics and very much into opera. not only as critic but author of several libretti, and as many will already know, a Wagner scholar with a remarkable book on Tristan to his credit. Among his other distinctions, he's also been sued for libel by the Pet Shop Boys group...

Cheers,

Mike
