By "productions" they mean recordings - not staged performances. How
they can prefer the Karajan 72 to his Bayreuth 52 is beyond me.

Most of the other picks are uncontroversial (Kleiber, Goodall,
Furtwangler, Barenboim (DVD)) with the exception of Solti, whose
Tristan has never really seemed to find favour.
